this world

I just hate all the bad news in this world.  Oh if only this world would turn to music instead of war, what a wonderful world we would have.  Since I got older and retired, I found I have just had to ignore the world at large and turn to my garden, and my music for peace.  My love of course is classical music followed by some opera. Also some country and soft rock, anything that makes me twirl!   Some opera makes my head ache.  If you get one of "Andrea Bocelli" dvds you will find such happiness, and of course my love of orchestra's "Andre Rieu."  We are so lucky to have these guy's to make our world a better place.  It all makes for a better retirement in life.  The first time I went to a Rieu concert was truly wonderful.  I also admire him so much as a man.  Here he is travelling the world with everything falling at his feet and he states that his wife is the most important thing in his life.  God bless him.  I hope this post will encourage others to check out these wonderful guys.

A true story of a crazy wedding

The wedding was held at a camp site and after we had pitched tents we got around to arranging the tables for the feast.  The wedding was set to start at 1pm.  The bride was an ex-prostitute marrying one of her 'johns,'  The cake was placed in the middle of a long table that would also hold and presents brought.  The bride turned up and changed her dress and promptly spilled chilli sauce all down her front when she tried to sample some before the wedding.  No way to get that out!  We quickly ran around gathering as many big leaves as we could and stuck them in a heart shape on the dress.  The woman marrying them turned up only to find the groom still missing, she took off after waiting an hour, to return in another hour as she had another couple to marry.  The time is now 3pm.  The groom turns up with another prostitute he picked up on the way, a fight starts and the wedding cake gets tossed at the groom, the registrar returns to marry them, the 2nd prostitute acts as bridesmaid.  The bride won't let anyone eat until the groom is cleaned up, the two pros have a fight and the chilli gets tossed!  By this time everyone is laughing hysterically.  The groom goes around asking for any presents and finds none as most people don't know them and the few that do throws them at the crazy couple.  The couple eventually leave in the grooms fancy red sports car only to be stopped by the police as it was stolen.  When they arrive at the police station they find that the bride and groom are wanted on fraud charges.  Meanwhile back at the camp site we all bring in a tall order of McDonalds, get drunk on the crate of champagne and enjoy a good laugh.  The groom is now serving 10 years for fraud, the bride get 3 months and finds out she is pregnant by the best man and elopes to marry him forgetting she has to divorce first.  I lost touch with them both after that, but will never forget the wedding!

Canada day

We started the day off with breakfast for the whole city of Edmonton.  Great to see everyone and their dog and families having so much fun.  We had a huge supper of steak, salad and baked potato, followed by a bowl of cherries.  So much food but so much fun.  Fireworks started at 11pm.  With drinks for the adults after.
